I am in celebratory mode this Juneteenth. Though, when you think about it, the essence of this day is audacious, a proclamation that “ok, we have changed our minds, humans are not to be owned as cattle anymore” (**Orator looks to the audience for a big fat BRAVO but is met with ancient african eyerolls.**)
Nonetheless, I celebrate with all emancipated persons who have paved the way for us in this America! I am reminded of my father’s words: Imagine surviving a genocide and letting daily, often self-imposed stressors of life, wreck you. So too, imagine your ancestors surviving this agony for you to stress over confused ninjas, crying babies, dictatorial bosses, one word: NEVAH! DJ Ziza, Play “Tout Laisse” by Josey. It’s going HASI today!
