LIV, THE SINGER?

The below anecdote elaborates why my life is in fact Nollywood.

It is very customary for Francophone African artists to do what we call “dédicace”. That is where in the middle of a song, they sing the praises of some big names of influential Africans in different sectors. I figured it was a service that one pays for. I was realistic enough to know I’d never make the cut for artists like Koffi or Fally so I reached out to the management a fairly new and super talented Ivoirian, coupé décalé Gospel artist and asked how much it would cost for my name to be sung. Turns out that’s not how it works. You have to be so big, they WANNA sing you. It’s not mandazi you can purchase.

Never one to back down from a challenge, I had an epiphany: I’ll just sing myself. That is how, my first single, “African Ballerina” was born. Now available on all platforms. If you want me to sing you, email management…

Nuko Turumirwa!
