“If you get choked by the waters of River Niger, will you stop drinking water? If those same waters overflow and destroy properties, will the village folk stop fishing?” This is how my friend responded when I expressed that since my first husband was Ghanaian, I could not date another Ghanaian because 1) Awkward. 2)One cannot allow lightening to strike twice.
I now must caution every person who has established a royal throne of bitterness in his/her heart, to dethrone it and allow room for love again. The reality is this; As long as the sun rises, humans will err BUT love? Love never fails! Take my case, Nari kuzatwara moto ryari koko? (When else would I have ridden a motorcycle?) This brings me to my final suitor. Because yes, the series is nearing its end. My phone is now dry, and I am resuming my regularly scheduled programming.
Suitor #3 spoke very fondly of his friends and family; this devotion touched my heart. He invited me for a motorcycle ride that turned out to be super fun. In turn, I invited him to an event that ended up being very much on CP Time (Colored People Time). It was legit 4 hours behind. But not once did he complain, I appreciated his flexibility. However, our religious differences were too strong to disregard; and religion is a personal affair, I cannot ask him to convert, and neither can he. And since relationships are complex enough, we do not need that added layer of complication.
Side Note: (Muzi umugani w’umukobwa w’umwami wabenze abasore bose, avuga ngo azasanga umusore udafite inkovu, bikarangira arongowe numusaza? Reka reka! Toka Shitani!) Rwanda legend has it, the King had a beautiful daughter who rejected every suitor waiting to follow one with no blemishes. In the end, an old man forced himself on her and she bore his children. Pretty tragic and disturbing tale meant to caution young women to accept suitors really quickly — which has the unintended consequences of making men think the girls are desperate; thus furnishing even less efforts. Get thee behind me, Satan!
Pros: Clean Character. Gentleman. Pious. Cons: Religious/Ideological differences. Compatibility: Failed. My outmost respects remain.
