FAIRNESS

Very few people have the capacity to be fair. They want to help women because they happen to be women. They want to help blacks because they happen to be black. If one day for example, the minority group they advocate for, was to take over; they wouldn’t mind. So then, what troubles them isn’t injustice in itself. What troubles them is that they aren’t the ones with the privilege…

Fairness requires that one is perturbed by any act of inequity even when far removed from it. (i.e. A US based white male working towards the eradication of female genital mutilation in sub-saharan Africa). Fairness also requires reciprocity. You cannot complain that people speak ill of you when you yourself speak ill of others…
