I first want to take a moment to wish you the most JOYOUS OF JULYs. Typically, my schedule is as follow:
- Monday through Friday, I hustle and bustle in the office, attempting to quite literally force my sit at the table, because baby, I WILL make it to the top. Kungufu, nibishake bizatware Kung Fu. (By fire by force!)
- I adore Saturdays because I lean into my natural state of laziness.
- Sundays are Sabbaths; Biblically, a Sabbath is a Holy day of Rest. I use Sundays as a time to atone for my sins and pray for family and friends as well as others (the sick, the afflicted, etc.)
Come to think of it, my childhood was pretty animated. We once woke up in Rwanda to find that our Church had had a revelation. Because the days of the week seemed to be “pagan” inspired: Moon-Day, Saturn-Day, Sun-Day, the church legit re-created its own calendar with new terminology (Resurrection Day and Silence Day etc.) Most of us found it to be a super fascinating and innovative experiment, so we obliged. Quickly enough though, people started forgetting which day was which. On top of that, non-members could not understand. You could not for example tell your boss, “Sir/Madam, please mark me absent on Silence Day.” Still, I must applaud the creativity. This is what I mean by “living” – trying and if it doesn’t work, try again.
Sandrine recently sent me the following quote; she said it summarizes my outlook on life and she is quite correct: “Be a mess. It’s fine. The Universe is a mess. Galaxies are drifting all over the place. To be tidy is to be out of tune with the cosmos.”
You my friend, are a quite delectable mess.
HAPPY NEW MONTH.
