The objectification of women is a giant NO-NO. We know too, that beauty will not feed you. With that said, is the subtle use of charm to obtain a desired result always improper? Cleopotra, one of the few women to have ruled Ancient Egypt is emblematic for that. While archaeologists have not been able to confirm much, what is certain is she successfully used seduction to preserve Egyptian interests. In fact, managed to have not one but two of the greatest Roman Emperors under her thumb. Some have described this as “brilliant beauty”. I am fascinated by this concept. As such, my braids this month are a tribute to her.

Biblical position on beauty? “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”- Proverbs 31:30
