Ever heard of a purity ring? My sister used to wear one so I wore one too. It’s pretty common in Christian American circles. The idea is you are committing to chastity until marriage. No one verifies, it is an honor system between you and God. Typically, women in these circles marry very young : late teens/early twenties, I wanted to first save the world so I married at 29. Needless to say, holding yourself for 5 years is easier than holding yourself for 10… Also, I grew up in Africa and didn’t grow up with 24/7 Internet. So my discovery of sex was delayed to begin with. I worry for this generation…

Morality aside, unraveled sex has ruined the lives of many powerful historical figures. King David, The Giant Samson, President Clinton,Catholic Priests… I cannot help but notice it is a majority men issue. A man who can control his sex life has won half the battle.(Ladies, you aren’t spared. It is you that will have to carry the baby for 9 months in your belly when it goes down…) One word: Moderation —- if at all possible.
