BEST JOB IN THE WORLD

I have held a number of jobs in my life.
I worked at Walmart and I have done lyft/uber; I have also worked at a University and a Fortune 500. Surprise, Suprise: I hated every one of these jobs… A year ago, I was blessed to transition full time to a non-profit organization & I now have what I consider the best job in the world: being a humanitarian!

When we aren’t combating famine in South Sudan, we are working to increase women’s access to information in Guatemala. I was trained at an HBCU. We were conditioned to ALWAYS wear suits to work because while this country hates blacks, they can’t argue with excellence. In the non profit sector though, things are rarely glamourous, no one dresses up and compassion fatigue is galore. BUT, when I think of the luxury it is for me to be sitting in AC, with a roof over my head and food in my belly; having done nothing to deserve it. I find it is my duty to help fellow humans ease their sufferings and I cannot permit myself to be fatigued.

One Love- One Africa.
