It brings me the ultimate joy to report that father, after many years of negotiation, has finally understood the art of relaxation. Him and wifey are on their third cruise. Once, a man he’d been helping stole from him. When the man later got into serious health complications, dad found him some Indian specialist and by the Grace or God, the man got healed. When I asked how he was able to continue befriending the man who had stolen from him, he said: “Erega chouchou chérie, ubukene ni bubi, kandi ibintu nibishakwa.” (Poverty is a terrible ill; and as for materials, we can always acquire more.)
I go to him for all advice, ranging from boy drama – to work conflict – to existential life questions. Even my friends go to him for advice. He carries incredible wisdom but has such a down to earth delivery and approach to life.I am in utter awe of the generous, kind, compassionate, non-judgmental man he is. A toast to Mugenga!
