**Trigger Warning** The following contains references to grave sexual violence crimes.

Frenchwoman, Gisèle Pelicot is enduring what French Media is calling “Le Procès du Siècle”. (Trial of the Century). She opted for proceedings to take place in open court insisting, “it is not for me to have shame but them.” The terrible crimes committed against her? Her husband of 5 decades drugged her with sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication and brought 50+ strange men IN THEIR HOME over a period of 10 years to r*** her and he recorded it. She would have never known about this but because “the days of the thief are always numbered”, some months ago, said husband was caught filming up the skirts of women in supermarket and during police investigation, police encovered the crimes on his computer. The family even thought she had Alzheimer because she had extreme memory lapses. Lapses that medical experts later linked to the decade of poisoning at the hand of her own husband. Sick.

Evil? Beelzebub? Satan?

The reality is, the 50 accused are everyday citizens with no particularity. THAT is precisely what a predator plays on. (Presupposed) Charm. The crimes are so grave that the laws of France are having to be re-written. France defines r*** as “Tout acte sexuel …commis par violence, contrainte, menace ou surprise est un viol.” (Code Pénal 222-23) that is “Any sexual act … committed by violence, coercion, threat or surprise.”

In the present case, the defendants argue that it is not r*** because there was neither violence, coercion, threat, nor surprise. That this was instead a sort of sexual game gone wrong. Keep in mind, the initial Internet add legit warned, ”if she wakes up, run; don’t park near the house, don’t wear perfume so as to not leave traces…” However, they are playing on the fact that, as written, the law is too restrictive. This is what American jurisprudence calls “Expressio unius est exclusio alterius”. This means the expression of one thing is the exclusion of another. Basically, according to this principle, we are to interpret the above law as follows, if an act did not involve violence, coercion, threat or surprise, then it isn’t r***. Here though, a very obvious case of r*** occured. So the laws are expected to be changed to resemble more European Union & American definion of rape. Georgia defines R*** as “Carnal knowledge of a female against her will” — (needs reconstructing too as men can be victims .)

Beyond this case though, the question on everyone’s minds is, what type of society do we live in, that 500 men can see the add and not a single one alert the authorities? Not every man on Earth is guilty but a lot of them…
