Since I got promoted, I mistakenly thought “I’d arrived” and started making plans to purchase my dream car (of the moment.) That is a chocolate convertible benz with license plate “LawyerLiv” or “Nyanza”…That was until I saw my first pay. A literal 1/4th has been taken out for taxes. Reached out to HR to see if any adjustment was possible and they legit told me the more you make, the more you get taxed. Ok so why should I make more then?

It is a double edged sword. On one hand taxes make sense. They exist to “pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States.” In other words, somebody has to pay for the paving of highways, (although Atlanta citizens should be opted out considering the ever growing number of potholes in our roads.)On the other hand, since we can’t do without Medicaire and Social Security (As every human is entitled to proper care & disabled or retired workers deserve support). BUT DEFENSE? Must we really continue spending 820 Billion on defense? Humanity aside, we’re too broke to enter pseudo-wars. (National Debt is 36 Trillion). Fun Fact on that! Especially for me, an almost descendant of slave- (Transatlantic slave trade touched mostly west coast of Africa not East) Can you image that the National Debt grew by 4000% (from 65 Million to 3 Billion) during the civil war. So basically, while a war was fought on the question of “Sirs, (not Madams) shall we enslave human being? Hmm…” the debt was exponentially worsening. What type of Ginormous Karmic Juju is this? I ain’t mad

Needless to say, the Benz will have to wait. Is this why y’all be getting sugar daddies? Makes sense.
