SEX CRIMES

Not sure how we got here but it appears the population is in dire need of a refresher. Fear Not, for I, your not-always humble servant, will oblige.

• Ignorance of law is not an excuse
• Weirdly, legal age of consent in GA (and in 29 other US States) is 16.
• Knowingly Transmitting STD is an offense punishable by up to 10 yrs.
• Engaging in sexual acts with a person who is not of age EVEN if the they misrepresented their age by say, showing a fake ID, is a crime punishable by up to 20years in prison.
• Threatening to release an intimate partner’s private pictures/videos is a crime called Sextortion. It is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
• There is no statute of limitation for R****. Meaning charges can be brought even decades later.
