How have I been in church since fetus era and I have not read the Bible in its entirety?A joke! New year, new me. Let’s try this again. 1200 Pages? Not bad. Ah… Who am I kidding. Matter of fact, suddenly feeling sleepy. OYA, TOKA SHITANI. (Get behind me, Satan). Will be reading chronologically. So far, Genesis is not the most exciting book I’ve read. (Or shall I lie?)
Chapters 1-5 range from creation to Adam’s genealogy. This creation story refutes big bang theory. Or maybe not. Frankly, I don’t really care how we got here. (Is that bad?) All I need to know is the created must bow to the creator. Logic. In this time, God was busy creating rain so the ground could be watered and man was living to be 800+. I found God to be un-patriarchal, for Holy Scriptures say, Eve was a helper COMPARABLE to Adam.
Interestingy noted lots of name copycat-ing. Adam had Abel, Cain and Seth. Cain’s son was Enoch; Seth’s son was Enosh. Whose son was named Cainan. Smh, younger siblings… Wait, I am a younger sibling. (Fun Fact: Enoch did not die. “He was no more. God took him”) Not really sure what this means. Trust they will elaborate later.
Favorite verse so far “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” Powerful reminder to do right by people.
Our E-Bible Study Continues tomorrow. Stay Warm.
