I am what they call an Afro-Optimist. We are aware of the difficulties on the ground— heck mere minutes ago, I experienced a power cut while in elevator in a 5 star hotel in Africa… (Lasted 2 seconds. No biggie.) Additionally, inter-Africa travel is caricaturely tidious. Every 5 minutes you want to ask, is this a sketch? So… We do not seek to glamorize Africa & acknowledge the difficulties on the ground are immense! STILL, we believe: Africa is the future. Why?
Africa drives world population. Which is a power factor (see China). In 2050, Nigeria alone will account for 10% of all births in the world. In sum, forget about what I said about the importance of family planning- keep popping babies, it’s revolutionary! What can I say: Desperate times call for desperate measures. One Love- One Africa.
