AH! AH! Olivia! You are a Lawyer, a Humanitarian, have a Non-Profit, hosts a blog, are writing a book, are preparing to sell African crafts in Genga’s Garage, have a Youtube, plan to run for GA House of Rep. in 2 years. Now you wanna matchmake? YUP!! Call me “Tout Travaux”
Two years ago, right after my divorce, dad deemed I had been bamboozled and was determined to solve this societal issue for all future African brides. The societal issue being: most men don’t seem to be equipped for marriage… Which results in either a woman carrying the weight for life or running saying “Kibuno mpa amaguru”, Olivia style. He looked into how Indians do it. He even brought up our old Rwandan customs of “Kuranga”. I interjected saying long marriages don’t equal healthy marriages. We debated and dad and I concluded “Cherchons l’argent seulement…” (Find money. When a woman has money. The world is at her fingertips.)

During that time- My family flew in to move me out and we cracked jokes. We aren’t the “linger in pity” type of family. After this- My dad paid for a vacation for me. Once there, my sister paid for a getaway within the vacation for me. My cousin in Europe even invited me on expenses paid vacation – after roasting me, saying my muscles needed rest from cooking all that Ghana heavy food. I roasted him back, told him hanging with his friends, the colonial masters would worsen my depression… All this to say- love from my family and from God healed me, AND I even got promoted at work, so life got back on track…
Now that I have emancipated myself, I want to help others find peace too. Which is why I wish to dabble in Matchmaking. God gave me a gift. I quite literally see love everywhere… And since I know SO many people because I do too much… why not create a mega love database and we connect Africans in the Diaspora looking for love? Especially because- Dating sites are cool, (I know because I’ve been on most of them), but the likelihood he/she may kill you is not insignificant… These people are wild.
SOOO… perhaps it’s time to revert back to tradition… “Kuranga”, with a twist. Register now on my site. The concept will be explained there.
One Love, One Africa.
