It is as if our regions are allergic to brilliant men & women… Check this out: Ivory Coast’s presidential elections are set for next month & we are unfortunately foreseing chaos. I have confirmed we will not observe these elections. Generally, when we observe we are to maintain neutrality. Remember when I observed US elections 2024 & had to pretend some unnamed public officials (cough cough #47 et.al.) were not maniacs. Silence almost suffocated me but I’m a professional BABAYYY….
(Quick random parenthesis: Did you know a Chinese Ninja is a Chigga and a Korean Ninja is a Kigga. Just found out and I am on the FLO’)
Anyway, since we’re not observing, I can freely unleash. THEY’RE MESSY, THEY’RE WRONG & THEY’RE A JOKE. Imagine, Thiam has been disqualified from running on the basis that he isn’t Ivoirian because they dug up some dormant 1961 law never applied to anyone before, that says, accepting another nationality is renouncing the Ivorian nationality but literally all of us have dual nationalities. Even more absurd, man is a direct descendant of Queen Yamousso after whom Capital of Ivory Coast, Yamoussokro is named. If Thiam isn’t Ivorian, nobody is. BIG FAT LOL

In response he said,
“Ok. Most of the Ivorian Football team has dual nationality. So let’s apply the law & give the cup we just won back to Nigeria.”
Truth is they are threatened by his brilliance. This is a long standing CEO of Fortune 500 Companies who has also had a long history at the IMF & at the World Bank. (Sister organizations located right across from each other in the heart of DC.) I too worked there in 2019, it’s just he was closer to the ceiling and I was closer to the floor. Point being, man is brilliant & his disqualification unconstitutional. Ofc- no one cares about his tantrum or mine. Business as usual.

A pic of me in 2019 at WBG, back when duck lips were socially acceptable… La Honte!

All in All, I see a new generation of African Brilliant men and women; forcing their way on the international scene. Which means that one day, our nations will heal & our children will no longer have to cross entire Oceans just for a chance at a decent life. For now, as they say in Côte d’Ivoire; YAKO Tonton.
One Love,
