Babylon

Sitting in Church, Pastor makes reference to Babylon. The Rastafarians come to mind. War mode activated. I will pray for my enemies another day. Rastafarians long described Western Civilisations as Babylon. A Biblical methaphor for corrupt, oppressive, exploitative systems. Then, revolutions came. U.S. saw a shift in mentalities. De-segregation took place in schools in 1954. Interracial marriage was legalized in 1967. MLK was born, Malcom X was born. (Well & killed…) African Nations gained independence in 60s. Apartheid in South Africa ended in 1994. Mandela became President. The EU was mandated to welcome refugees fleeing prosecution by sea. A Kenyan man was elected POTUS. Shit, I knew we made it when a white woman faked being black, permed her hair and everything…

Until… Until… One man & his click. Re-fueled hate and division for political gain. Single-handedly undoing decades of progress. Effectively spitting on martyrs. Still, here we are, dedicating our very lives to preserving the Founding Fathers’ legacy that all men are created equal. How ironic that some of us “aliens” are more patriot than them all combined.
