Speaking in Tongues: Spiritual Fanatism?

I have ridiculous sleep patterns. Most nights I’m up at 2 or 3am since my creative peak is highest when the world is asleep. Believe it or not though, I sleep a lot, like 9hrs/day, just not when y’all sleep.

On today’s menu: “Do y’all really speak in tongues?” Don’t get me wrong, faith is the foundation of my entire being. I have been in church since my literal birth. With that being said, is speaking in tongues spiritual fanatism? I know, I know: Acts of Apostles, Pentecost, Holy Ghost, Tongues of fire etc. But like my G, you REALLY speak in tongues? Like when you are alone in your bedroom, no one watching, no screaming Pastor, no external pressure, foreign tongues really flow out of your mouth? Idk- I’m a bit skeptical on the matter. Then again, no way everyone is faking it. Right? Or maybe it’s become a sort of subconscious learned behavior, something we do without thinking. A bit like driving a car. Everyday when I drive to work, I’m not sitting there concentrating on how my foot will hit the brake or how my hand will change the gear, I just do it… After all is said and done, I really hope we have not missed the point of the Gospel.
