Love or Money?

You wake up debating in your head whether to heat up leftover croissant in the oven or in the microwave and he wakes plotting your downfall…

Why? This “men are the provider” culture we have shoved down people’s throats have made men hyper competitive. (Aside from it being incredibly unfair that your elder father has no money but these young Atl ninjas are expected to have Maserati money.) Beyond that though, it has created a generation of men who think they are only valuable when they can pay for things. So the more a woman grows financially, the more uncomfortable an unhealthy man gets. For he has been conditioned since birth to think he was born to provide & die. (*Bows down to healthy men who love to see their women succeed*) I can’t wait to kiss the feet of such a man who will conquer my heart.

When I monitored the US elections last year as an independent observer, I met an older white gentleman, a Doctor, the old money type, who was volunteering for the Dems. We bonded over an overly enthusiastic Republican Black Woman observer who refused to even look at us. Sis appeared, as they say in French “Plus royaliste que le roi”. Later that evening he asked me out to dinner. I politely declined. Most people I told the story to thought it was stupid of me. If you ever catch me singing my lungs out to Davido’s love is sweet, when money enters love is sweeterrrrr… Id be meaning MY money…

They laugh at me for I refuse to engage in transactional love. I laugh at them for diluting love to money. How unsexy.
