I have long criticized the objectification of women. Until my eyes were led to a picture I myself posted. Let us explore Exhibit A below. I can say that it was an artistic expression, a fashionable choice. I can even say it was a cultural representation of the African woman. Or worse (*Insert Influencer Voice*) “I like to look good for myself”. LIESSSS! The raw truth is, I wanted y’all to see my bum.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I looked GOODT, that dress snatched me up & I received lots of “Body Yadi”, “Coca Cola Bottle” along with unprovoked (actually no, very much provoked) “Hey WYD” texts. All of this is essentially harmless now: I am an unmarried woman with no child to breastfeed. BUTTT as much as I like to play play and am in my femme fatale era, I know getting accustomed to attention from the opposite sex is a very dangerous game that has brought many powerful men/women on their knees. From Biblical Samson in 12th Century BCE to Kevin Gates on Shaderoom the other day… May God grant us less self-absorption and more compassion for humanity. E-Hugs,
