Peculiar New Year Resolution

This year I want to wear more clothes. I’ve been naked long enough… I tried to fight the concept “l’habit fait le moine” my whole life. It’s always been about the soul for me. However, since the rest of the population doesn’t seem convinced and I am a pure Democrat, I will submit to the will of the 51%.

Also- I will always be a free spirit with a childlike wonder but I am in my 30s now and “the stone that the builders rejected is becoming the cornerstone.” (Psalms 118:22). Therefore, as I elevate in this superficial world we live in, where one apparently can’t impose respect and lead in booty shorts, I must comply…

Eventually, I seek to represent the elegance of the African woman by ONLY wearing african prints like the Ghanaian hand woven “Kente”, the Malian “Bògòlanfini” known as Mud Cloth, or the hand-dyed Nigerian “Adire”. For now though, we will dabble everywhere until we logistically can. As always, One Love, One Africa, One Humanity.
