From the southern tip of Africa, comes somber news. Some two hours ago, Pan African Activist Kémi Seba, who famously burned his French passport saying, “the black man is not a dog whom you incite with a bone“, was just arrested with his 18-year-old son.

Enters now political theatre… Man was arrested several times in France before for “Incitation à la haine raciale” (Incitement to racial hatred). As if there is greater criminality than trading humans. (Quick diversion to address France directly: We eat your croissants, we admire your Eiffel, but viewing our fathers as cattle is not a crime we will EVER forgive.)
In the same Land Madiba bled for, freedom Fighter Julius Malema has also been sentenced to 5 years in prison. His crime? Daring to tell Afrikaners (White South Africans) who constitute 8% of the population but own 80% of the agricultural land, “we will take our land no matter what.“
Some kilometers away, on the Eastern Coast of Africa, Ugandan activist Bobi Wine who challenged a 40-year presidential rule, has gone into hiding after his home -where his minor children reside -was raided by military. Bobi is known to have said “don’t be loyal to any one individual not even me, be loyal to the truth”
Most troubling piece? A quick scanning of reactions online and what do I see? Africans rejoicing at the downfall of their brothers! VILIFICATION is the oldest trick in the book. A bit like how they used to call Malcom X a “Dangerous militant”, ’till – well- they killed him… OR how Lumumba was labeled a “dangerous communist” for attempting to free his country from foreign rule. When he was killed in 1961, a Belgian policeman went as far as to keep his gold-capped tooth as a trophy. Guess when it was returned to his family? FOUR FUCKING YEARS AGO.
We have seen this movie a million times before. Not even my period cramps frustrate me as much as fully functioning African governments aligning themselves with Western interest to betray their own brothers.
In contrast, help me clap for the black conscious community of America that has led an INCREDIBLE cultural shift. Like for example, now it’s embarrassing to be a Karen! Thanks to community leaders like our brother Representative Eric Bell II in Atlanta, man of the people, who are continuing the work of 1960s civil rights giants with poise.
Sadly, though in our parts of the world, the biggest enemy of the African Man remains the African Man… Even more frightening than that, we are still having to educate a staggering 70% of Nigerian and Congolese women who bleach their skin that —-perhaps, just perhaps— they shouldn’t want to look white because they are not white… TF?
Stopping here before I lose my mind entirely. May God give us the serenity to keep on keeping on. & May all Political Prisoners be freed. One Love,
